Q: What is an Adobe ID and why do I need to have one to view Jeppesen e-books?
A: Jeppesen e-books purchased through Jeppesen are protected using Adobe Content Server (ACS) digital rights management (DRM). An Adobe ID is a free account that allows Adobe to match the authorized user to an ACS DRM e-book protected file. You can create your Adobe ID directly within most ACS DRM compatible reader applications or through the Adobe website.




Q: Is it possible to read my Jeppesen e-books without an Adobe ID?
A: Yes, but it isn't recommended. If you open an ACS DRM protected file without an Adobe ID, the file will be restricted to that single device regardless of the DRM settings




Q: How do I view Jeppesen e-books on my Macintosh?
A: Adobe Digital Editions is currently the best way to view ACS DRM protected content on both Macintosh computers and PCs. Click here to access the application installer.




Q: My Macintosh meets the stated system requirements for Adobe Digital Editions but the installer fails and says that I don't meet the requirements. What is the problem?
A: This can happen occasionally and is a known issue to Adobe. A manual installation of the application usually fixes the problem. To see the steps for a manual installation click here.




Q: How do I view Jeppesen e-books on my PC?

Q: How do I view Jeppesen e-books on my iOS device (iPad, iPhone, etc.)?
A: You will need to use a third party ACS DRM compatible reader application for iOS that is installed on your iOS device such as the Bluefire reader application.




Q: How many devices can I load my Jeppesen e-book on?
A: You are allowed to load your Jeppesen e-book on up to 12 devices in total. Each device must have your Adobe ID associated to the eReader application used on that device.




Q: How long will it take to download my Jeppesen e-book?
A: Many of the Jeppesen e-books have full-color graphics and images that provide a rich experience for the reader, making our e-books much larger in file size than some other e-books. It is reccomended to have a high-speed Internet connection for initial e-book download. You can view the file size of our e-books by clicking here




Q: Can I view Jeppesen e-books I purchased through JeppDirect.com on my iOS device through the Apple iBooks application (iPad, iPhone, etc.)?
A: No, Apple's iBook application can only view e-books purchased through iBooks/iTunes. You may, however, purchase our e-books directly through the Apple iBook and iTunes applications by clicking here which will allow the books to be read directly on your iOS device.




Q: How do I view Jeppesen e-books on my Android device (phone, tablet, etc)?
A: You will need to use a third-party ACS DRM compatible reader application for Android installed on your Android device like the Bluefire reader application.




Q: How can I load my previously purchased e-books to my new computer/tablet device I recently purchased?
A: You can re-download any e-book you have purchased to your new device by clicking on the original e-book download link provided in your e-book purchase confirmation.




Q: What happens if I delete my e-mail confirmation by mistake before I download my e-book?
A: Please call us and afer we validate a few details on your account we can re-send you the original confirmation email that will include the download link for your e-book purchase.




Q: What happens if I don't get the e-mail confirmation that provides me the download link for my e-book?
A: First check your spam folder and if the Jeppesen email confirmation for your e-book is not there then please call us and afer we validate a few details on your account we can re-send you the original confirmation email that will include the download link for your e-book purchase.




Q: I am getting an error message when I click on the link to download my e-book sent to my hotmail email address, how can I resolve this?
A: A bug has been identified with the new Outlook email viewer through hotmail that modifies the URL for your e-book download, so please open the html attachment that has the same confirmation message via any internet browser and you should then be able to download your e-book by clicking on the e-book download link




Q: Do I need to be connected to the Internet in order to view Jeppesen e-books?
A: You only need to be connected to the Internet to initially download an e-book and to authorize the file to a new device allowing the Adobe Content Server to validate the file authorization. This only takes a moment. Afterward no further Internet connection is needed and ACS DRM parameters like file expiration or copy limits will continue to function as expected.




Q: When trying to download the eBook link the following error is displayed; E_AUTH_BAD_DEVICE_KEY_OR_PK CS12
A: Several forums suggest the following: If you are using either Bluefire Reader or the BooksOnBoard eBook Reader app on an iPad and you get this error, please uninstall and then reinstall the app software you're using.
